The following features of Greek and Roman art were adopted:

- Domes 

Dome of Florence Cathedral (Brunelleschi). This is the first Renaissance dome.

Dome of Saint Peter`s Basilica in Rome (Michelangelo)

- Columns (with classical capitals and entablatures).

- Semi-circular arches and coffered ceilings.

San Lorenzo in Florence (Brunelleschi)

- Triangular pediments, friezes, geometric designs and scrolls.

Façade of the Basilica Santa Maria Novella (Alberti)

- Longitudinal and central-plan (circular, square, Greek cross).
